How to lead an open research project

1
Publish a proposal or project introduction

If you've published a proposal on Thinklab, it's easy to transition directly into a Thinklab project. Otherwise, just post a project introduction to get started.

2
Add Contributor Rewards (optional)

Contributor Rewards create a financial incentive for peers to contribute to your project. Rewards are offered by the research team, or by science funders who have posted a funding opportunity.

3
Invite contributors (optional)

Invite scientific peers to following and contribute to your project. You'll be asked to rate the value of their contributions, and we'll recognize them on the "Most impactful reviewers" page. If you've added Contributor Rewards they'll also be paid.

4
Lead an open research project

Post project updates, ask questions, and engage your project contributors.

5
Publish a research report

When your research is complete, write up a report to serve as the online entry point to the results of your research. Project contributors can review your research report in the same way proposals are reviewed. Thinklab creates no restrictions that would prevcent you from also publishing in a traditional journal.
